There are three panels: Crucifixion, The Prodigal Son and an icon of the Mother of God. They are the first works of sacred art made by me in Sicily. The choice of the Byzantine style was more a choice felt at the moment then the result of previous experience. The favourable reception of these works has contributed to my interest in Byzantine art and the study of the artistic and cultural heritage of Byzantine Sicily.

Eventually I later made the bronze reliefs for the main entrance of the Ancient Church of Consolation, located near the first.
